Light Gauge Steel Framing
SLP Enterprises has worked on more than 300 hotel projects in locations throughout the United States. Based in Griffith, Indiana, SLP Enterprises possesses proven experience in drywall hanging, insulation, and light gauge steel framing.
Similar in principle to wood framing, light gauge steel framing uses thin steel sections instead of wood. To make the metal framing, long metal sheets are passed through a system of rollers, where they are shaped and bent into C or Z cross-section forms that can bear heavy loads. The forms are sized to correspond with 2” x 4” or 2” x 6” wooden members.
The lightweight, easy-to-carry steel frames can be fastened with self-tapping screws. The steel members are clad on both sides with plasterboard to produce load-bearing walls. Nonstructural applications of the frames include exterior cladding and interior partitions.
